Lys Guillorn’s recent single "Sunny Side Down” is best described as “Nancy Sinatra on a grunge bender.” The singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Shelton, Connecticut is a stylistic shape-shifter, dipping her blue cowgirl boots in folk and psych-rock. She has two full-length studio records of original material, an oddities collection, and an EP on her own label Little Cowgirl Records.
“So if oddly uplifting, folk, blues country-infused acoustic semi-electric psychedelic dark pop music is your thing, please say hello to Lys Guillorn, you'll get along just fine.” - Geraint Jones, Comes With a Smile #14 (UK)
Julie Beman (Chica Non Grata)
Julie Beman's songs are full of playful and reverent images of the natural world. Devoid of cynicism and frequently funny, her songs resonate with the Eternal Broken Heart and can blossom into expressions of pure joy.
Of her debut EP Movie, Christoper Aloysius Mariotti of Lonesome Noise says "Dreamy pop-infused songs with a surreal depth; Beman's melodies and harmonies linger long past twilight."
Julie plays piano, organ, keys, synths, and occasionally, the soprano recorder. She is half of Chica Non Grata, a bass-driven synthpop duo with her husband Eric Bloomquist. She also sings and plays keys as a member of Lys Guillorn's band.
