Songs about motorcycle gangs, psychedelic splits with reality, and people we have hated. Bass heavy Mom and Dad rock played by aging adults in plaid.
Mike Kusek of Bilge Rat
New Haven's Bilge Rat traffic in a tangled chamber grunge, knotting themselves up in elegantly conflicted moments of dissonance and coaxing some grace out of the pile of discord. Comprised of Michael Kusek, Ryan Kalentkowski, and Quinn Pirie (Kindred Queer), Bilge Rat combine dense guitar work with jazz informed drums and Kusek's cutting nasal croon.
The Right Offs
"We're The Right Offs. We play rock 'n roll nice and loud. Connecticut is where we're from. When we speak we shout and when we play we entertain. Maybe it's art, maybe it's music, maybe it's just what we love. Nothing wasted; not one movement, syllable or glance. You'll see us coming out of the corner of your eye and we'll leave it to you to try and turn away."
New Haven's Newest Hit Makers.
New Haven Connecticut’s Sam Carlson writes with an acerbic punch. With incisive and often satirical lyrics he runs through a laundry list of investigations, lodged complaints, and general bummers.
