The Crown Street Orchestra
The Crown Street Orchestra was born in the early days of Cafe Nine when Mike Reichbart, who owned cafe nine back then, got a call from another club owner looking for a band. At the time, Cafe Nine's "World Famous" Sunday Night Blues Jam was in it's prime and many of the area's best musicians would get together and Jam every Sunday. Mike offered up the opportunity to some of them and the band was born right there on the cafe nine stage.
Over the years, the band, fronted by Kevin Saint James, has featured musicians from those original blues jam days along with new players. August 13th at Cafe Nine will feature a mix of old and new with Peter Blossom - guitar, Tim "T-bone" Stone - keys, Mike D'Amico - drums, Jeff Richardson - bass, and some very special guests. Come down to "the musicians' living room" for a night of Classic Rock, Rhythm & Blues, and Funky old Soul and have some fun with The Crown Street Orchestra.
The Red Planet
The Red Planet does a straight-up, no-nonsense acoustic (sometimes electric) jam that covers a variety of classic tunes from The Dead, Dylan, and The Band to Johnny Cash and other roots-based, country-fied, Americana-type, standards. Their laid-back, sittin'-on-the front porch, let’s-have-fun attitude gives way to tightly worked out performances, rich with interwoven instrumental unity, guitar pyrotechnics, vocal harmony, group dynamics, and flat-out enthusiasm—all delivered with a genuine working-for-the people, non-showbiz kinda presence. It's hard not to have a good old time, hangin' out when they do their thing.
