There's a reason Handsome Hound has been called the "musical version of 60 mg of Prozac." Handsome Hound's danceable, lyric-driven music has its roots in folk, rock, pop, americana, and country -- think Johnny & June Carter Cash meet Shovels & Rope. The band released its critically acclaimed debut EP, I Guess We're Doing Alright, in March 2016, which included the hit single "Hannah." Since then, the band has played in historic venues in DC -- including the John F. Kennedy Center for the Arts, Rock & Roll Hotel, and Black Cat -- and toured up and down the East Coast.
The band will release its first LP, Mountain on Fire, on May 18, 2018. The anticipated album, engineered by Beat Baby Studios (Wye Oak, Lower Dens) and mastered by Sarah Register (Big Thief, The Shins), will include many of the songs that audiences have come to know the band for, including "Carina" and "Austin." Lead vocalists Claire Daviss and Cuchulain Kelly will be sharing these songs in major cities throughout the East Coast on their Summer 2018 tour.
