The CarLeans are a musical collaboration between Connecticut based musicians Jim Carpenter (guitar, vocals), Sarah MacLean (guitar, vocals) and Corina Malbaurn (bass, vocals). The blending of their diverse musical backgrounds creates a captivating musical experience.
Steeped in passion for story telling and navigating the human experience, their original songs are raw and powerful - paired with a delivery and live performance that's honest and marked by well-placed musicianship and vocal presence. There’s a versatile sound that comes from the three piece rooted in Americana/folk music, but extends through Country/Pop/Blues/Cajun.
Nominated for Best Country/Americana Artist and Best Singer/Songwriter in the 2016 CT Music Awards, Jeff Przech tells musical stories. His 2015 release, "Sounds Like Fresh," is carried by classic songwriting along with Przech's deep, soulful vocals and acoustic guitar. It’s perfectly clear that Przech knew exactly what he was going for on his first record, a collection of songs that takes the listener on, as one reviewer called it, a “rewarding emotional journey.” He understands struggle and his life experiences shape his songwriting, which is always very true with its intentions. He wants his songs to make people think and feel. His music is an ideal union of the classic sound he so admires and the modern Americana genre. As one venue owner put it, "Jeff Przech is one of those artists that you hear in a room and you have to stop what you are doing. You stand there with drink in hand...or set it down because you don't want to be disturbed and you just take it all in."
