The Paul Collins Beat
Paul Collins is one of the most enduring cult rockers of the late seventies and a founding member of the legendary band The Nerves (with Jack Lee and Peter Case). He started his solo career in 1979 with the release of his album The Beat on Columbia Records under the management of the legendary Bill Graham, and has released more than 11 studio albums as Paul Collins, The Beat or Paul Collins’ Beat.
Out of My Head, his new record, is a return to the pure, unadulterated sound he helped create in his youth. On this new album Paul not only sings, but plays all the drums and most of the guitars as well.
With the collaboration of Paul Stingo on bass and harmonies, he delivers a true rock 'n' roll record of the kind that are not being made in today’s world: simple melodies with classic songwriting structure, Rickenbacker guitars drenched in juicy reverb, straight up '60s pop harmonies, and groovy drums, all recorded reel to reel, by real players. With a photo cover shot by legendary NY photographer Bob Gruen, Out of My Head is a testament to one man’s undying love for rock 'n' roll.
The Right Offs
The Right Offs are a New Haven, CT. based rock n' roll trio who consistently channel every ounce of joy, grit, and energy they can muster into their music. Fronted by the soulful and instantly memorable vocals of singer/songwriter/guitarist Max Loignon, the band also includes the dynamic rhythm section of Than Rolnick on bass/backing vocals and drummer Bob Breychak. Of their live performances the New Haven Independent said "The Right Offs sounded tight, even tighter than the band is on its last release, and more ferocious, raging around the twists and turns in the band's clever, tightly wound material," while the #NewHavenMusicblog called one of their recent shows "one of the most high energy performances at Cafe Nine in recent memory...". In 2016 the Right Offs self-released their debut album Quiet Down to rave reviews in local press. Chip McCabe's 'The Metal Dad' blog named Quiet Down as the best non-metal album of 2016, while the 'Twangri-La' blog commented, after a favorable review of the album, "I can only imagine their stage presence." In March 2017 NYC's The Deli Magazine named The Right Offs as one of the Best New England Emerging Artists of the year, putting in writing what everyone already knows: The Right Offs are a force to be reckoned with now and in the future beyond. Currently, the boys are working on their sophomore LP due for release in 2018.
