MDC
MDC is an American punk rock band formed in 1979 in Austin, Texas, subsequently based in San Francisco, and currently Portland, Oregon. Among the first wave of bands to define the sound and style of American hardcore punk, MDC originally formed as The Stains; they have periodically changed the meaning of "MDC", the most frequent being Millions of Dead Cops. The band's lyrical content expresses radical left political views and has proven influential within the punk subculture.
MDC released material through ex-Dead Kennedys singer Jello Biafra's independent label Alternative Tentacles. In the 1990s, vocalist Dave Dictor published editorials for the internationally distributed fanzine Maximumrocknroll. MDC's initial run ended in 1995, and the band spent five years on hiatus, before returning in 2000 with some new band members.

Maiko Newell spawned Rakefire in his bedroom early in 2018 while in another punk band. After he was kicked out of that band he went all in the idea of Rakefire. He finished writing the first EP, then recorded with Ben Lionetti (Emmure, Lakeshore) before pitching it to his friends Patrick Foti, Gio Gomez and Luis Albir. They backed his idea and started playing shows immediately.
Maiko met producer and Audio Engineer Ryan Harvey through instagram and immediately started working together. Rakefire's first LP "Pushing up Daisies" was released right when the pandemic started canceling their short run and release show for this album. They spent the rest of the time during the pandemic writing and releasing music which included "Existing & Resisting" (EP), "BAD DOG" (Single) and "war in my head" (Single)
A couple lineup changes happened in 2022 but with no negative impact. Rakefire finally got to hit the road and cement themselves as a real DIY band.
