About the Show and the Artist:

The Chicago Dawgs lay down the blues deep, soulful and hard-edged like an authentic Chicago blues band, and there's a good reason for that: They ARE an authentic Chicago blues band -- fronted by native
Chicagoans. They just happen to live in Connecticut.
This is serious, badass blues!
Guitarist and vocalist Tom Crivellone grew up in Chicago and now lives in West Haven, but still has one foot back home. He spent 11 years touring internationally with the late, great Blues Hall of Fame member Eddy"The Chief" Clearwater -- one of Chicago's greatest bluesmen (and a cousin of Lurrie Bell and the late Carey Bell) -- until Eddy's unfortunate passing a couple of years back. Before that, Crivellone was co-founder with veteran blues and soul singer L.C. Walker of Two for the Blues, performing for years in Chicago-area clubs while also maintaining a home in CT.

Harmonica player and vocalist Mark Zaretsky, who also grew up in and around Chicago, has led New Haven's The Cobalt Rhythm Kings for more than two decades. He learned about the blues by watching blues greats Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon, Koko Taylor, Otis Rush, James Cotton, Albert King, Mighty Joe Young, Lefty Dizz and Fenton Robinson perform while growing up in the Windy City. Zaretsky also performs a few times a year in Mark Naftalin & Friends with Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Mark Naftalin of The Paul Butterfield Blues Band.

The rhythm section changes from gig to gig but we play with our friends -- and our friends are some of the top blues musicians in the state of Connecticut. So come on out and see what we've got in store for you this time!
